May Sketch III

May 25, 2010
Pencil on paper
4"x5.5"
Made a quick sketch during my lunch break yesterday. It was hot and the sun makes everything so green this time of year. I may bring in my paints sometime soon and paint a version of this view in Morrisville.

Owl's Head

May 22, 2010
2 plate monotype
7"x5"
The photographer Ansel Adams once said he visualized his finished prints from the moment he set up his tripod in the field to the last moment in the darkroom. This is something that has taken years for me to make second nature. I love it when I have something in my head and can execute it in the most personal and self-satisfying way. I think I may title this new series of prints "Sick colors for a dying planet".

May Sketch

May 6, 2010
Charcoal Pencil
4"x5.5"

Endless possibilities.
In a field near my work, big clouds blow by with gusto.
It is early spring, dandylions bloom all around me.
Tranquility found, just in time.
