Went up the Stannard Mountain Road and made this little sketch before snow shoeing up an old logging trail to write a couple of simple poems.

Cold finger exercise
Quick sketch at Flagg Pond
Warm winter sun.

Up and old logging road,
to the backside of Ide Mountain.
Frozen trees sway in the breeze.
Crackling ice harmonizes with my snowshoes.
Sun hides behind snow clouds,
Rabbit tracks.

My son Elias wanted to paint, but insisted I paint with him.  So I broke out the watercolors and made this little fantasy landscape.  Not my best, but it was the process of painting with my son that made it important.
