Camel's Hump Sketch Revisited

May 29, 2015
Copy, pen and white-out.
8.5"x12"

I took the crummy scan I posted the other day and worked on it for a reduction print. The first thing I did was reverse the image and blow it up a little bit. Then I worked extensively with white-out and a Pigma Micron 05 until I felt it was in good enough shape to transfer to a big piece of linoleum. The transfer of the image will take place this weekend and I hope to be ready to carve soon after that...

Camel's Hump Sketch 2

May, 26, 2015
Charcoal on paper
3.5"x5.25"

While this is not a great scan, I am pleased with this little drawing I made the other day just outside of Stowe. The earlier sketch I posted was from a collection of images I found online and my imagination. This one, may become a design for a larger piece of linoleum for a reduction print.

Camel's Hump Sketch

May 18, 2015
Copy, white-out and sharpie
5.75"x7.75"

Cartoon sketch to transfer to a piece of un-mounted linoleum for a reduction print. At this point it is already on the block and I have been working out the first color areas. At this point I plan to make about 20 with an orange/red fade as the color with the black key block over the top.

Camel's Hump Sketch

March, 2015
Charcoal on paper
3.5"x5.5"

Made this little sketch from a picture on the internet. Next week the trees should all be green and full in VT and I plan to take a trip to Stowe to sketch Camel's Hump for an upcoming project.

Legare's Farm Blockprint

April, 2015
Reduction prints on linoleum
8.75"x11.25"

Made an edition of 24 prints in three different colors of the old Legare's Farm in Calais, Vermont. You cannot see the embossing in the scans but pulling the unmounted linoleum on a good press is a lot of fun. Makes working a little larger with bigger editions a lot easier.

Collagraph Proof

April, 2014
Collagraph
6"x8.5"

Pulled this little print as a demonstration for my students at JSC. I dug through some old sketches and found this one I made of Caspain Lake in Greensboro. I climbed up the hill behind my boy's piano teachers house and found this beautiful view a few winter's ago. Considering this is the first collagraph I have pulled in years it came out pretty well.
